Ruth Moilliet is a critically acclaimed sculptor whose work, rendered in highly finished metals and focusing on the intricacies of flowers, has been featured in world-leading publications including the Guardian and Homes & Gardens. We commissioned Ruth to create hundreds of individual, long-stemmed ‘allium’ flower sculptures for Keybridge, our landmark scheme in the heart of Vauxhall.
The alliums collectively make up a beautiful sculptural display in the Keybridge marketing suite, but they are also a visual representation of this outstanding residential tower’s one, two and three bedroom apartments and Skylofts. Different stem lengths and lacquer finishes represent the sizes and specifications of individual apartments, and buyers at Keybridge are presented with their own piece of this remarkable sculpture - the unique allium that represents their apartment - on completion.
The allium is one of Ruth’s signature shapes, but until now has always been expressed in large-scale installations up to two metres across. Commissioned in July and delivered and installed last month, the creation of the scaled-down alliums took a huge amount of time and care, firstly in the design and development phases, and later as each piece was individually handcrafted and finished.
The result is a beautiful, bespoke piece of work that encourages experience and participation rather than just viewing - the perfect installation for Keybridge’s immersive, innovative marketing suite.
