Big Energy Saving Winter: We’re All In

Next week sees the end of the Big Energy Saving Winter campaign, an initiative that champions a cause that’s really close to our hearts at Mount Anvil. Fuel poverty in the UK is a huge issue, with the government last year showing statistics that approximately 1 in 10 households were fuel poor.

In the video below, Nick and Mike share our approach to  how we’re creating low energy-performing homes at our latest estate transformation scheme, Friary Park in Acton.

We’re working together with our JV partner Catalyst Housing Group, to provide 990 homes – over 400 of which will be classed as ‘affordable’ and will either be rented or offered for shared ownership. By using Passive design principles, we’ll ensure none of these residents will face fuel poverty for themselves. Take a look at the video below to see how we’re doing this.

And our commitment to delivering low-performing energy homes in London doesn’t stop at our Friary Park scheme. From working together with The Planet Mark, we’ve embarked on a number of initiatives that are positively contributing to the Climate Crisis we face today (in case you missed it… click the related articles below to see what we’ve been up to).

Steve Malkin, Founder and CEO of Planet Mark, said: “It’s great to see Mount Anvil once again flying the flag for sustainability in the build and construction sector – this time in aid of the Big Energy Saving Winter campaign. Our partnership with Mount Anvil has already seen them achieve our Real Estate Certification at Royal Docks West: it’s clear to see they have a real passion, culture and commitment to deliver low energy-performing homes for their residents in London, as well as positively contributing to today’s climate crisis. We’re excited to see future great results together in this space.”
