Social housing provider, Riverside has partnered with Mount Anvil to bring high quality yet affordable housing to the Friars Close Estate in Bankside, Southwark.

Riverside and Mount Anvil are now working closely with residents of the existing 28 homes to develop a planning application that takes their views into account and directly responds to their needs as well as providing significant benefits to the surrounding community.

Cris McGuinness, Chief Financial Officer at Riverside, comments: “We are delighted to be working with Mount Anvil in this new Joint Venture to regenerate and renew our portfolio of 1930s-built homes in Bankside. This new Riverside/Mount Anvil partnership will now work closely with our customers and the London Borough of Southwark to find, agree, and deliver the best possible outcomes for local people, for this rapidly changing neighbourhood.”

Killian Hurley, Chief Executive of Mount Anvil, adds: “We’re pleased to be working with Riverside to transform the Friars Close Estate and bring forward new high-quality homes, including more social rented properties in Southwark. We know that the existing residents are in need of homes fit for modern living and that the London Borough of Southwark needs more social housing delivered and so, we’re excited to be involved in delivering these much-needed new homes.”
