Our Win at the Women in Construction Awards 2017

Now in its eleventh year and a key date in the industry calendar, the Women in Construction Awards celebrates exceptional women working in the built environment sector, and the organisations who encourage and enable their success.

This year’s awards were held on Wednesday 1^st March. The awards were presented by BBC journalist and royal correspondent Jennie Bond in a ceremony at the Hilton Manchester Deansgate.

We were thrilled to receive the Award for Staff Development and Training in recognition of our people-first approach and our commitment to the personal and professional development of our female workforce. Three of our employees were also category finalists for individual awards.

This celebration of the empowerment and development of women at Mount Anvil is a timely one - the perfect way to mark International Women’s Day on Wednesday 8^th March, a worldwide celebration of the economic, cultural and professional achievements of women.

The Women in Construction Awards’ judges commented that Mount Anvil “are setting ambitious targets to increase the number of females in the industry. There is a clear focus on upskilling current staff while improving the representation and development of women both on and off site.”

We know that people who are happy and empowered at work deliver outstanding homes and drive exceptional results. We invest in our people, providing accredited courses at the Mount Anvil Centre of Excellence, in-house health and wellbeing support, and partnerships that give women across Mount Anvil access to academic and vocational qualifications, bespoke construction training and more.

Judge Emma Richman added that “Mount Anvil stood out as a forward-thinking organisation that truly empowers and leverages the talent of women not only internally but across the sector”.
