It's safe to say we won GOLD

Our gold standard in health and safety was recognised by RoSPA for the fifth year in a row last night, with Mount Anvil taking home Gold again this year. Our purpose is to create outstanding places where people can thrive, and health, safety and wellbeing is a fundamental part of this. Every person has the right to expect to get home safely each night from our developments.

This is the fifth consecutive year we’ve taken home Gold for Occupational Health and Safety at the Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Awards.

RoSPA is one of the longest running and highly regarded safety awards in the UK. A key industry fixture in the health and safety calendar, offering organisations across the globe an opportunity to prove their commitment to the very best health and safety standards.

Winning this award wouldn’t be possible without a company-wide focus on health and safety, encouraging the active involvement of all teams. For us it’s always been about people, not just procedures.

We are continually striving to improve conditions and raise awareness of the potential hazards around our people on site. The “Spot it. Fix it. Log it.” campaign no doubt caught the eye of the judges; designed to inspire our people to take responsibility for the safety of themselves and their colleagues. We photographed our people in their everyday work clothes, holding the tools of their trade, standing proud and confident. We want these images to speak directly to their colleagues and make them feel their safety is paramount, and that each and every one of them has the power to make a difference.

Let’s not also forget that a key part of health and safety is health. Just like our approach to safety, it’s about going beyond systems and procedures, supporting proactive health management. That’s why we offer our teams access to ‘Phone Home’ skype booths, free Fitbits, free health insurance and Money Doctor workshops – initiatives that were recognised with a Mind Workplace Wellbeing Gold Award earlier this year.
