To assist the vital increase of pace and volume of housing across England, loans ranging between £5m and £100m are now available for developers and housebuilders. This funding will be accessible to both new and existing Barclays clients in a bid to further diversify the housing market, with almost two-thirds of homes currently built by just ten companies.
A key priority of ‘The Housing Delivery Fund’ is to support small and medium sized businesses and to help them develop homes for rent or sale including those within social housing, retirement and the private rented sector. Supporting innovation is also a fundamental element of the development finance through brownfield land and urban regeneration projects.
Killian Hurley, CEO at Mount Anvil, said:
“We were honoured for our Royal Docks West scheme to be chosen as the venue to announce the Housing Delivery Fund. We’re excited about any well-backed funding initiative like this which has the potential to support non-PLCs looking to increase the speed and volume of their housing output.
“As a development that plays a key role in the wider transformation of the area, Royal Docks West represents the wealth of opportunities posed by urban regeneration projects.
“The Royal Docks have undergone significant transformation in recent years, partially a result of the £3.7bn investment that has been made in the area, creating a thriving new neighbourhood to live, work and socialise.”
Royal Docks West is a 19-storey tower of 105 studio, one, two and three-bedroom homes (including 26 affordable homes), alongside retail space and a public landscaped garden on Western Gateway, Royal Victoria Dock, London Borough of Newham.
Located just three minutes from Custom House DLR station, where Crossrail is anticipated to begin service in December 2018, Royal Docks West offers an exceptional opportunity to buy into the heart of the £3.7 billion regeneration area at the Royal Docks.
