The Verdean enjoys huge success as development launches
The scheme sees 90% reservations in first three days of launching its first phase at the site.
We recently unveiled the first phase of The Verdean, our first joint venture development with Catalyst. Comprising 160 for private sale in Acton, W3, the first phase has seen huge demand since its launch on 23rd June with our selling agents Knight Frank and Savills cumulatively reserving 90% of the homes, four years off-plan.
Jon Hall, Group Sales Director at Mount Anvil, comments: “Everyone’s talking about these being unprecedented times – The Verdean has had an unprecedented positive response, with 80% of homes reserved 48 hours after launch. It is no surprise that discerning UK buyers are responding to the location, the compelling outdoor proposition and the promise of Mount Anvil build quality. The stellar sales rate gives our joint venture partnership great confidence as we progress building this outstanding place where people will thrive.”
James Chatt-Collins, Director of Sales & Marketing at Catalyst said: “The first phase of The Verdean has proved to be incredibly attractive to the market and its clear to see why. The scheme is excellently designed and features fantastic landscaping and outdoor space, as well as a wide range of amenities for residents.”
The Verdean sits on the fringes of up and coming Acton, a large scale masterplan which includes the only transport hub with a Crossrail-to-HS2 interchange, along with new schools, a new high street, public realm and the creation of 65,000 new jobs. It will also offer two new campuses for Imperial College’s scientific and innovation hubs.
Emma Fletcher-Brewer, Partner in the Baker Street New Homes team at Knight Frank adds, “The sales success at The Verdean demonstrates the strength of location, and the demand for quality development schemes comprising verdant spaces in the capital. It is one of the first major launches in London following lockdown – and indeed the fastest selling scheme in the last two years – which gives us confidence moving forward.”
Andrew Hawkins, International Residential Director in the Savills London residential development team, comments: “We have had incredibly strong interest in The Verdean, and this has translated into sales, despite the circumstances in which we find ourselves. In times such as these there is a flight to quality and The Verdean delivers on all fronts. The excellent connectivity of the scheme – soon to benefit from the opening of the Elizabeth Line – the green space and first class amenities make this a highly desirable development.”
Once complete, The Verdean will offer 990 new homes with 45% affordable housing, as well as a number of community assets including, a supermarket, cafes and vast open areas benefiting from an outdoor gym, running track, basketball court, and climbing wall. Over a third of the site is landscaped with a thoughtful variety of outdoor spaces, treelined gateways to the site, podium gardens, woodland pockets, an ecowalk and a kitchen garden where residents will be encouraged and supported in growing fruit and vegetables for their own consumption.
The development is located next to Acton Mainline station – a Crossrail station – and locally connected by six other stations, the area is well served by public transport; with access into central London within 10 minutes, Heathrow in 20 minutes and Canary Wharf in 23 minutes.
